IADC therapy reduces the intensity of emotions experienced in grief, opening space for an ongoing relationship.

IADC therapy, also known as induced after death communication therapy, evolved from EMDR therapy. This specialized grief therapy consists of two 90-minute sessions that quickly alleviate the intense emotions associated with grief, allowing individuals to achieve a state of calm. In this tranquil space, those participating in the therapy can establish a different form of ongoing connection with the person or pet they are grieving. I can provide IADC therapy to persons throughout the province of BC through remote video sessions.

Hi. I’m Lisa McLellan, a registered clinical counsellor in BC offering grief counseling both in person and remotely throughout the province. My personal experiences of loss—including my brother, mom, dad, son, and most recently my therapist and furry sidekick—have led me to explore specialized grief therapy. This journey also inspired my deep dive into the study of induced after death communication therapy.

Connection forms in a different way. Induced after death communication therapy can help individuals find meaningful, ongoing ways to connect with their loved ones after loss. Outcomes for IADC therapy have been shown to surpass those of traditional talk grief counselling.
